The Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Service in Gibraltar is based at the Primary Care Centre and is staffed by therapists, who support children.
The therapists work closely with children, teachers and parents, to tailor a program that can be delivered at school and at home.
Children may need support with:
Speech, language and communication
Swallowing difficulties associated with specific language impairment
Learning disabilities
Speech difficulties
Autism
Cleft palate
Voice disorders
Stammering
Cerebral palsy
Hearing impairment
Selective mutism.
Family-focused therapy programmes are delivered in the Primary Care Centre, in schools, nurseries and in some cases at home depending on the needs of the child.
