LATEST INFORMATION
Illness and Absence
If your child is away from school, parents/carers should inform the school either via email or through your child’s Seesaw account.
Below is some information on common illnesses amongst children and the recommended period of time they should remain at home. We ask parents to be mindful of following these guidelines in order to protect others who may be at risk of becoming seriously ill should they be exposed to certain infections and viruses.
Please note: Should your child become unwell whilst at school, parents/guardians will be called by the School Nurse and you will be asked to come and collect your child.
Accidents
Should an accident occur involving your child, a description of the circumstances and the injury incurred will be recorded by the School Nurse. You will always be informed of accidents upon collection and/or on Seesaw. The School Nurse may phone parents/guardians to advise you of an incident (e.g. bump to the head) and if deemed necessary we would ask that the child be medically checked.
If there is a medical emergency, you will be called. However, should all of a child’s emergency contacts be uncontactable, your child would be taken to hospital accompanied by a member of staff he/she knows well. Please ensure that we always have up to date contact numbers for you and your nominated carers (mobile phone numbers often change!) .
We look forward to working with you and your child during this academic year. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
