The aim of physiotherapy is to support your child’s mobility within school and enable access the school’s curriculum.
The physiotherapist's role:
To be involved in setting up hydrotherapy programmes for pupils
In conjunction with OT, to provide advice on moving and handling for pupils.
To provide and teach exercises and stretching programs to be carried out by class staff.
To provide advice regarding equipment such as, walkers and standing frames.
Physiotherapists may also carry out home visits to check home equipment and liaise with parents regarding therapy.
